This post is aimed at new/returning players (like me), that do - however - already know the basics. The higher you go, the bigger the chance, that you might encounter the base ilvl requirement, to be higher than the rune requirement. No such thing, as you can just as well make none of them and still be successful in progressing through the game.

I changed the symbol to 'req.' to better convey the intent of simply showing the minimum rune lvl requirement for a runeword - rather than saying that 'you have to equip it at that lvl for optimal progress'. They're not in any way mandatory for progress and you shouldn't feel obliged to get them! It's ultimately up to you, if you're willing to farm for the runes or not. you don't have to create all runewords! :) I provided the notable ones for quick reference purposes only.

I assume, that once you reach hell, you'll start looking into more advanced information out there, so I specifically left it out, as I feel it would be 'out of scope' here. this write up was made with a cold sorceress in mind (probably the most popular at the start), hence for example, the might aura merc from ACT2 NM suggestion. this is not a guide - those are merely suggestions of things that I - personally - will use and you can choose to use them, or ignore them completely and play as you wish :) Edit: A lot of you have provided some very good comments, so I edited the post a bit, to include them.
